Oracle Staking

The Oracle page lets data providers manage stake, MANA, and rewards.

Data providers stake ETC in an oracle contract before submitting prices. Accurate submissions earn MANA and a share of future bounties.

S&F's oracle can be slower than high-frequency perp price feeds because OTC issuance and redemption settle in rounds, and the protocol has no liquidation engine.

For the deeper mechanism, read Oracle Rounds.

Stake

Stake is the ETC deposited in the oracle contract. It gives the data provider the right to participate in price rounds and earn MANA when submissions are accurate.

Withdrawing stake can burn a proportional amount of MANA. Recent submissions also create a withdrawal delay, so a provider cannot submit a bad price and immediately remove stake before the submission can be challenged.

MANA

MANA represents oracle reputation inside the protocol. It is not a transferable token.

Accurate submissions earn MANA over time. MANA weights price consensus and determines the share of bounty rewards. If a provider is slashed for an incorrect submission, their MANA can be reset.

Rewards

Oracle rewards come from fees paid by traders. As a pool gets more usage, the bounty available to data providers can grow with it.

Claiming rewards pays out accumulated bounties and updates the provider's reward accounting. Withdrawing stake is what burns MANA proportionally.

Price submission

Price submission must come from the staked externally owned account. It cannot be delegated through a contract.
